At Mindfulness4dogs all our trainers pride themselves on providing the best possible service for you and your dog. We love our style of training and helping our clients become “bowlingual” but most of all we love hearing what you have to say about the results.
We took in an 18 month old leonberger, without much knowledge of his past. A leonberger being rehomed, you know there will be some challenges! Initially we were wanting help with loose lead walking as our efforts were getting us nowhere! Darran came recommended through the Leonberger club, and I particularly liked his positive reinforcement training approach. Darran’s vast knowledge of dog behaviour was evident in the first few minutes of our first assessment, and it was clear we needed help with more than just loose lead walking! We looked forward to our sessions and the connection that grew with our dog using techniques that he responded well to. We have a much calmer dog now, and some great tools to help manage potentially stressful situations.
We are so impressed and thankful for the professional and insightful help Darran has given us with our dog’s on lead reactivity which started following a few bad experiences he had while on lead. Darran has given both him and us the tools and understanding needed to allow our boy to once again relax on lead and to see another dog in this setting and not feel fearful. He has always been a social and happy dog in every other way and so to have him feeling the same while on lead is a massive relief (and to not feel the need to turn and walk the other way when seeing another dog on the street to avoid the barking embarrassment!). We have really re claimed our life back and now enjoy a daily and stress free walk around the block without any worry. Thanks again Darran and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this service!
Marley is now a completely different dog since her sessions with Darran she is confident and friendly with other dogs , doesn’t pull on our walks and can do so many new tricks now , we have a much better understanding of Marley , 100% would recommend
We’ve had a great six-lesson training course with Darran with our dog Ava whose main problems are excitement leading to aggression with other dogs, and possessiveness. She’s come quite a long way and now we know how to approach the long road of training ahead. If you want to understand what’s going on in your dog’s head Darran is the person to ask; it’s like an episode of a David Attenborough documentary.
I highly recommend Mindfulness4dogs, especially if you’re looking for a trainer who is very knowledgeable on dog behaviour and has a force-free, positive reinforcement based approach to training. Both my dog and I got lots out of our training with Darran. I really liked his calm, positive energy and my dog’s behaviour has significantly improved over the sessions we have had. She continues to improve with each day.
Darran is an amazing trainer i highly recommended him! we have a Siberian Husky x Border Collie Blue Merle. basically he is a handful. We decided to try and train him ourselves but he soon became too much to handle and all that we tried failed. In one session Darren calmed him down completely! His method of training is the best I’ve seen and you won’t be disappointed!!!
Darran is amazing at what he does. My puppy Lexi has attended both Puppy class and Bronze level training with him now and I couldn’t be happier with the course content and how it is taught. He is very sweet with the animals and I am am very glad to know him as a person! Thank you for everything Darran and both Lexi and I cannot wait to attend agility with you.
Highly recommend Mindfulness4Dogs. Darran has provided knowledge and techniques to help manage my very anxious dog Tex – ranging right through from stress relief via massage and recognising body language cues, to simple training commands on and off the lead. He really shows a great calmness towards and understanding of [wo]man’s best friend.
We could not recommend Darran enough! He has changed Mack’s and our lives! He has unleashed the most lovely, beautiful boy we knew was in there!!!
My sister and I took our Labrador to see Darran for 2x 1-1 lessons to help with lead walking and nervousness towards dogs. Rosie was immediately at ease with Darran which is very unusual for her! Darran’s positive techniques and his calm manner instantly worked with Rosie. He explained his techniques and reasoning for them really clearly which made it easy for us to understand and replicate at home. We saw Rosie come along in leaps and bounds after just one lesson and we already feel much more confident when out with her. Can’t wait for our 2nd lesson. Would highly recommend Mindfulness4Dogs! Thanks Darran. Kate and Lucy
We did a package with Darran and loved the way he worked with our dog’s behavioral issues. Lua is a naturally scared dog and barks at other dogs when she sees them. We have learnt a number of techniques to help us calm our dog and make her feel comfortable around other pupps. Darren helped us understand how Lua’s mind work and how to appropriately react when she is under stress. We would definitely recommend Darran to anybody who needs assistance in making their puppy happy.
We brought a new pup into our home and our 9 year old dog was not happy, so much so we thought we would have to re-home the pup. Darran helped us understand the dynamics between the two and worked with us to settle the situation. We honestly wouldn’t have got there without his help.
We adopted a rescue GSD, aged 5yo. Her history was a bit of a mystery and as she became comfortable in her new home she became more erratic on walks especially to bicycles and small dogs – never people. Darran taught us calming techniques and ways to familiarise her with these ‘surprises’ on her walks. We now have a quieter dog, a calmer dog. Still protective of her garden but much easier to walk. She’s been to kennels with larger dogs and had a blast (& behaved). Cheers and thanks Darran. Stu and Bela
